Habibur Shah
Exams & Calculations Programme Lead
As the Exams and Calculations Lead at Pharmacy Foundations, Habib Shah is involved in the development and creation of materials, with a specific focus on challenging and supporting the learning of trainee pharmacists in their preparation for the registration assessment. His role ensures that the content created is tailored to meet the standards of the GPhC framework and the needs of future pharmacists. He has also contributed to two books in the Pharmacy Registration Assessment Questions series, which are designed to stimulate and enhance the learning of trainee pharmacists.
Habib brings a wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy and education, having graduated from the University of Bradford in 2018 with a Master of Pharmacy. Upon completing his pre-registration training in a busy community pharmacy, Habib gained early exposure to a GP setting through various mentors like Atif Saddiq, paving the way into his role as a GP based-pharmacist. During this period, he played an important role in implementing patient safety initiatives and supporting the practice in meeting CQC standards. He expanded his clinical expertise by working simultaneously at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, where he worked across multiple specialties and played a role in a unique pharmacy-led discharge service pilot that improved the speed and quality of discharges.
In 2020, Habib took on the role of Primary Care Network (PCN) pharmacist, where his clinical skills and leadership qualities led to his promotion to senior pharmacist and co-lead of the trainee pharmacist programme in 2022. Alongside his clinical duties, Habib qualified as an independent prescriber, allowing him to deliver a higher level of care in both primary and secondary healthcare settings.
Habib’s extensive experience across community, hospital, and General Practice made him a versatile and well-rounded pharmacist for his role as a designated supervisor for the trainee pharmacists within his PCN.
Dedicated to continuous professional development, Habib completed the Health Education England Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway and is further expanding his expertise by training to become an anticoagulant specialist in primary care. His multifaceted role in education and clinical practice demonstrates his passion for improving patient care and advancing the pharmacy profession.
