Head of Education (Co-Founder)
As Head of Education at Pharmacy Foundations, Atif’s responsibilities include leadership and management of all educational services that the organisation provides, with a particular focus on ensuring that content created is pedagogical, accessible, and inclusive.
Atif has extensive experience in education and training through years of employment in academic roles at the University of Leeds and the University of Bradford. As an Assistant Professor in Primary Care Pharmacy Practice and Digital Lead for the MPharm course, Atif has a keen interest in innovating change through the use of digital technologies.
Atif’s clinical role sees him deliver healthcare services and clinical research in General Practice as an Independent Prescribing Advanced Clinical Practitioner. Atif’s portfolio of work also includes workforce development roles through the likes of NHS England (Training Programme Director), Royal Pharmaceutical Society (Chair of Early Careers Pharmacist Advisory Group) and Medicare Chemists (Educational Programme Director).
Atif has held clinical, operational, managerial and research roles simultaneously, with a work ethic firmly grounded in quality and system improvement, workforce transformation, collaboration, and service development. Atif is a strategic thinker with a proven track record of high-quality delivery.
Head of Operations (Co-Founder)
Mohammed Imran is the Head of Operations and Co-Founder of Pharmacy Foundations, with over three years of experience as an Independent Prescribing Advanced Clinical Practitioner and an extensive background in establishing innovative healthcare services.
In his role at Pharmacy Foundations, Mohammed Imran’s responsibilities include leading workforce initiatives, managing complex service designs, and implementing large-scale projects and change management programs across public and private organisations.
Mohammed Imran started his career in community pharmacy as a locum pharmacist and later advanced to a pharmacy manager, where he successfully led a team of 16 staff members. He then went to undertake a role as a Superintendent Pharmacist for a private online pharmacy, overseeing the healthcare needs of over 100,000 registered patients across the UK.
As an Advanced Clinical Practitioner, Mohammed Imran specialises in comprehensive patient care in general practice, managing a wide range of conditions from minor illnesses to long-term chronic diseases. Imran’s deep understanding of clinical practices ensures that patients receive the most effective and personalised care possible.
Mohammed Imran has previously held a role as a Clinical Teacher at the University of Bradford where he achieved Associate Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy. He is committed to advancing the field of pharmacy through strategically developing educational initiatives that focus on quality and learner experience.
Foundation Training Lead
As Foundation Training Lead at Pharmacy Foundations, Katy ensures foundation training content is up to date, accurate and relevant. She develops new content alongside other Pharmacy Foundations staff including our Foundation Focus Live webinars and delivers teaching on our foundation training course.
Katy is a qualified pharmacist whose career began with a training year split between general practice and hospital pharmacy. Her experience as a foundation pharmacist involved rotations across various specialties, including general surgery, orthopaedics, infectious diseases, and more, before embarking into a respiratory specialist role. In her clinical role, she provides clinical pharmacy services to in-patient areas, manages homecare and outpatient clinics, and offers coverage for the cystic fibrosis ward when needed. Katy also serves as a post-graduate diploma workplace tutor, mentoring foundation pharmacists and supporting their professional development.
Katy recently completed her Pharmacist Independent Prescribing qualification at Sheffield Hallam University in 2024, expanding her scope of practice and enhancing her ability to provide direct patient care. She has also completed her MSc in Foundation Pharmacy Practice at the University of Bradford, where she has focused on innovative approaches to improving patient care. Her MSc included a quality improvement project that explored the effective utilisation of pharmacy staff to optimise healthcare delivery.
This combination of advanced education and practical experience reflects her commitment to improving clinical outcomes and advancing the pharmacy profession.
Scholarship Award Lead
TJ is the Scholarship Award Lead for Pharmacy Foundations, where they manage and oversee the foundation training scholarship program dedicated to supporting Black/Afro/BAME trainee pharmacists during their crucial development year. With a commitment to addressing the awarding and attainment gap faced by this group, TJ is passionate about creating an impactful platform to support our future pharmacy professionals.
Their journey with the Scholarship Award began in 2021 as a trainee pharmacist, progressing to a mentorship role and now leading the program, affording a large variation of direct experience to draw upon.
Outside this role, TJ is a PhD researcher in Human Nutrition, exploring the effects of coffee consumption on cardiovascular health outcomes. This area of study combines their love for coffee with the dedication to advancing scientific understanding and participating in science and health communication.
With a previous role in pharmacy store management at Boots UK and ongoing work as a locum community pharmacist, TJ has a unique blend of continuing experiences in clinical, research and leadership roles. These experiences across various roles fuels their endorsement for expanding career possibilities within the pharmacy field, inspiring others to see beyond traditional paths.
Exams & Calculations Programme Lead
As the Exams and Calculations Lead at Pharmacy Foundations, Habib Shah is involved in the development and creation of materials, with a specific focus on challenging and supporting the learning of trainee pharmacists in their preparation for the registration assessment. His role ensures that the content created is tailored to meet the standards of the GPhC framework and the needs of future pharmacists. He has also contributed to two books in the Pharmacy Registration Assessment Questions series, which are designed to stimulate and enhance the learning of trainee pharmacists.
Habib brings a wealth of experience in clinical pharmacy and education, having graduated from the University of Bradford in 2018 with a Master of Pharmacy. Upon completing his pre-registration training in a busy community pharmacy, Habib gained early exposure to a GP setting through various mentors like Atif Saddiq, paving the way into his role as a GP based-pharmacist. During this period, he played an important role in implementing patient safety initiatives and supporting the practice in meeting CQC standards. He expanded his clinical expertise by working simultaneously at Calderdale & Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, where he worked across multiple specialties and played a role in a unique pharmacy-led discharge service pilot that improved the speed and quality of discharges.
In 2020, Habib took on the role of Primary Care Network (PCN) pharmacist, where his clinical skills and leadership qualities led to his promotion to senior pharmacist and co-lead of the trainee pharmacist programme in 2022. Alongside his clinical duties, Habib qualified as an independent prescriber, allowing him to deliver a higher level of care in both primary and secondary healthcare settings.
Habib’s extensive experience across community, hospital, and General Practice made him a versatile and well-rounded pharmacist for his role as a designated supervisor for the trainee pharmacists within his PCN.
Dedicated to continuous professional development, Habib completed the Health Education England Primary Care Pharmacy Education Pathway and is further expanding his expertise by training to become an anticoagulant specialist in primary care. His multifaceted role in education and clinical practice demonstrates his passion for improving patient care and advancing the pharmacy profession.
Foundation Training Employer Lead and Tutor
As an employer lead and experienced pharmacy tutor, Maryam specialises in the development of future pharmacists. With a passion for delivering engaging and inclusive learning sessions, she has helped numerous trainee pharmacists prepare for successful careers. In her role, she supports employers navigating the Oriel recruitment process and represents her company at key pharmacy events, promoting training services to prospective employers. Maryam’s expertise extends to clinical content delivery for university students, ensuring they receive up-to-date and accurate information.
She has hands-on experience in both community pharmacy and general practice, having competed a split-GP placement during her training year.
Additionally, through supporting a local surgery by conducting medication reviews. She aims to further contribute to patient care by obtaining her prescribing qualification, particularly to support hypertensive patients and help reduce cardiovascular disease in her community.
Looking ahead, Maryam aspires to expand her role as an educator, collaborating with universities to produce high-quality pharmacists for the future healthcare landscape.
Social Media Manager
As Head of Social Media and Marketing at Pharmacy Foundations, Isma’s responsibilities include the creation of educational resources and content that can be optimised across all social media platforms for the benefit of both pharmacists and trainees. There is a variety of focus from EDI health issues and various creative content being produced through both reels and infographics.
Isma is qualified as an Independent Prescriber with a speciality in mental health. She has worked in various different sectors in her career from hospital to community and has significant experience in the voluntary sector setting up the ACE Pharmacy programme by British Islamic Medical Association and working as Outreach support with the faith based mental health charity Inspirited Minds.
Clinical Tutor (Hospital Pharmacy)
Scott is a Clinical Pharmacist based at Chesterfield Royal Hospital In Derbyshire but also has experience in Primary Care and Community Pharmacy as well as academia.
Since graduating from Huddersfied in 2018, Scott has completed a post graduate diploma and Independent Prescribing course through the University of Bradford, specifically in critical care antibiotic usage. Scott specialises in Critical Care and Surgical Pharmacy and his daily roles inculde post take surgical ward rounds, Theatre Assessment Unit reviews, Anticoagulation Clinics, ITU and HDU, acute admissions and pre-registration tutoring. Scott has completed a number of UKCPA courses relating to this.
In addition to his clinical role he also works 2 days a week at the University of Nottingham where he acts as the clinical Pharmacy lead for the Renal and Endocrine modules as well as a significant input on Prescribing and Professional Practice classes.
Clinical Tutor (Hospital Pharmacy)
Abbas has extensive experience in hospital pharmacy, beginning his career as a rotational pharmacist and completing the Post-Graduate Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice, developing a strong clinical foundation.
Abbas then moved into an Education and Training Role to oversee undergraduate and pre-registration training, before beginning a Teacher Practitioner role with Brighton University, where he taught on the post-graduate and MSc programmes.
Over this time, Abbas continued to develop his clinical knowledge and experience by completing the Independent Prescribing Qualification, while also developing his leadership and management skills, through various other roles with the RPS and UKCPA.
Abbas then moved into the Associate Chief Pharmacist role, responsible for the leadership and management of clinical services across the NHS organisation.
Clinical Tutor (Hospital Pharmacy)
Devesh is a clinical pharmacist with over 14 years’ experience in delivering patient centred evidence-based care in a fast-paced hospital environment. His foundations are anchored in exposure to a multitude of clinical settings at ward level, in addition to other specialised hospital pharmacy roles within Aseptics, Medicines Information and Outpatients.
Over the last decade Devesh has led the digital transformation from paper to electronic health records at his hospital with digital medicines management forming a core area of expertise. He has a proven ability to lead and motivate the team in leveraging technology to enhance patient safety, optimise workflows, and achieve organisational goals.
In addition to the Mpharm degree and a Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy Practice, Devesh also has an MSc in Digital Health Leadership and a project management qualification. As Deputy Chief Clinical Information Officer, he is actively involved in contributing to the organisations strategic roadmap outside of Pharmacy and leading the implementation of innovative technologies such as robotic process automation, to transform workflows and enhance patient care.
Devesh’s role sees him developing and delivering education and training programs on digital systems to a multitude of healthcare professionals. He is passionate about enlightening the new generation of pharmacists about the diverse opportunities available to them in and outside of the core Pharmacy roles.
Clinical Tutor (Hospital Pharmacy)
Sheeba is a specialist cancer care pharmacist working in secondary care based in Scotland. She has recently obtained her independent prescribing qualification.
Sheeba has experience of teaching, creating content and exam question writing which many have benefitted from already.
Sheeba is passionate about motivating the next generation of pharmacists as well as reigniting enthusiasm for the profession. With her experience of creating digital content which is tailored to the audience, you are guaranteed to enjoy your learning and apply this in your daily practice!
Clinical Tutor (PCN Pharmacist)
Ajeetpal Singh is a highly accomplished pharmacist with extensive overseas experience spanning various fields of pharmacy. With a robust career as a hospital pharmacist, regulatory pharmacist, community pharmacist, and GP pharmacist, Ajeetpal has cultivated a diverse skill set that bridges clinical expertise and strategic leadership. He has also gained valuable experience in nuclear pharmacy and the pharmaceutical industry. Ajeetpal has held high-level management positions, showcasing his ability to lead and innovate in dynamic healthcare environments.
With many years of experience in tutoring and teaching, Ajeetpal is deeply passionate about education. He has empowered countless students and young professionals, combining his wealth of knowledge with a natural talent for mentorship. His dedication to nurturing the next generation extends beyond academia, as he actively collaborates with various NGOs across Europe, Asia, Australia, New Zealand, Canada, and the USA. Through these efforts, he has trained and inspired youth globally, fostering compassion, leadership, and excellence.
